If you do not sign in
Everything Vibral needs in order to work — the shows you follow, your queue, your listening positions, your downloads and your settings — is stored on your device. None of it is sent to us, and there is no account for us to attach it to.
The app still contacts three kinds of address in normal use: the Podcast Index, to run a search; the podcast's own host, to fetch its feed and audio; and our own update service. Those requests carry no identifier of you beyond what any web request necessarily carries.
If you do sign in
You may sign in with Apple, with Google, with a passkey, or with a link sent to your email address. We store the identifier that method gives us, plus the data that has to be synced to be useful: your follows, your queue, your listening positions and your app settings.
We do not use any of it to build an advertising profile, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. Sign in with Apple's private relay is supported and we never see the underlying address if you use it.
What we deliberately do not collect
No advertising identifiers. No cross-app or cross-site tracking. No third-party analytics or ad SDKs in the playback path. No sale of data, in the ordinary meaning of the phrase or in the broader definition used by California law.
We do not report what you listen to back to podcasters as an individual. Shows see the same anonymous download requests they would see from any podcast app.
Diagnostics and crash reports
Crash reports are collected only where you have allowed the platform to send them, and are used solely to fix the crash. If you send feedback from inside the app, the message you write is accompanied by device model, OS version and app version — and nothing else.
The waitlist
If you give us your email address to be told when Vibral is released, we pass it to Resend, the service that sends the confirmation message and the release announcement. It is used for those two emails and nothing else, it is never sold or shared further, and every message carries a one-click unsubscribe. We do not hold your address anywhere until you confirm it by clicking the link we send.
Payments and Value for Value
Vibral never holds funds for you and never takes custody of a balance. When you support a show, the request is handed to a Lightning wallet you control and confirmed there. We do not receive your wallet credentials.
A record of sends you have made is kept on your device so you can see your own history. If you have connected a wallet through a third-party provider, that provider has its own policy and terms, which apply to your relationship with them.
The web player
The browser player stores your library, queue and position locally in your browser when you are signed out, and syncs them to your account when you are signed in. We use no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies or local storage in use are the ones required to keep you signed in and to remember your settings.
Your rights
You can export everything associated with your account as a file, and you can delete your account permanently. Both are available in the app and in the web player, where deletion lives at vibralapp.com/player/account/delete. Deleting removes the synced copy; anything stored only on your device or your browser stays there, and is removed when you delete the app or clear the site's data.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, California or another jurisdiction with statutory data rights, those rights apply and the same address serves them. We will not ask you to prove a legal basis before helping you.
Children
Vibral is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Podcast content itself comes from third parties and is not rated or moderated by us.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or how it is used, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect, rather than only updating the date at the top of this page.
